Chocolate Cake


Dry Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
375ml (1.5 cups) cake flour
250ml (1cup) milk
125ml (0.5 cup) cocoa
125ml (0.5 cup) oil
5ml baking powder
15ml vinegar
2.5ml bicarbonate of soda
5ml vanilla essence
200ml castor sugar

  • Large mixing dish
  • wooden spatula/spoon for mixing
  • 5ml measure spoon
  • 250ml cup measure
  • 2 medium round baking trays
  • 500ml mixing jug for wet ingredients
  • whisk
  • sieve for flour mixture
  • oven mits
  • oven for baking

1) Sift all dry ingredients well 3 times - use 2 large dishes
2) Mix all wet ingredients in jug and whisk well
3) Slowly pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while stirring
4) Using whisk, stir until creamy and smooth(no lumps)
5) Pour evenly into 2 lined baking trays
6) Bake for 20-25min @180 degree celsius
7) Check if cooked by piercing with a pointed knife until knige comes out non-sticky/dry
8) Allow to cool before decorating with icing


250g Icing Sugar
An electric whisk
125g Butter
A Dish
5ml vannila
A Spatula
2 tb sps milk
Half cup Cocoa


1) Beat Butter, Sugar and Cocoa
2) Add Milk and Vannilla
3) Beat till light and fluffy
Spread on cake, decorate and ENJOY!!!
